1. Files You Upload

When you upload a file for conversion, that file is transmitted to our servers solely for the purpose of performing the requested format conversion. We process your file using automated conversion tools and return the converted output to you for download.

Automatic deletion: All uploaded files and converted output files are automatically deleted from our servers within one hour of upload. No manual deletion is needed — the process is fully automated.

No access to your content: We do not read, analyze, index, or share the contents of your files. Our staff do not access uploaded files except in rare cases where a technical issue requires investigation, and only then in an anonymized, aggregate context.

No permanent storage: We do not maintain any permanent database of uploaded or converted files. Files exist only temporarily on our servers during active processing and the brief retention window before automatic deletion.

2. Information We Collect

MegaConvert does not require user accounts and does not collect any personal identifying information such as your name, email address, or payment details. The information we do collect is limited to the following:

• IP addresses: Your IP address may be temporarily logged for security and rate limiting purposes (to prevent abuse of our conversion service). IP addresses are not stored long-term and are not used to build profiles or track individual users.
• Usage analytics: We collect anonymous aggregate analytics including page views, conversion type counts, and general usage patterns. This data does not identify individual users and is used only to understand how MegaConvert is used and to improve the service.
• Browser and device information: Standard web server logs may include your browser type, operating system, and referring URL. This information is used for technical diagnostics and is not linked to any personal identity.

3. How We Process Your Files

All file processing takes place on our servers. No file processing occurs in your browser beyond the initial upload. Conversion jobs run in isolated server environments to ensure that files from different users are never accessible to each other. Converted output is made available to you via a time-limited download link. Once the retention window expires (within one hour), the file is permanently deleted and the download link becomes invalid.

We use industry-standard open-source conversion libraries and tools. Our server infrastructure is hosted with reputable cloud providers that maintain their own security and compliance certifications.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

MegaConvert uses the following cookies and tracking technologies:

• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique users and sessions. The data collected is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Google AdSense: MegaConvert displays advertising through Google AdSense to fund the free service. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads relevant to your interests based on your browsing history. • Functional cookies: We may use session cookies to maintain the state of your conversion session (for example, tracking an in-progress conversion). These cookies are not used for tracking or advertising.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features of the website.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect data independently:

• Google AdSense— Advertising platform. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics— Usage analytics platform. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties beyond the services listed above. We do not use your data for marketing purposes and do not build individual user profiles.

6. Data Retention

Uploaded files: Deleted within one hour of upload, automatically. No exceptions and no permanent copies.

Server logs: Standard server access logs including IP addresses may be retained for up to 30 days for security and operational purposes, after which they are automatically purged.

Analytics data:Aggregate, anonymized analytics data collected by Google Analytics is retained according to Google's standard data retention policies (typically 14 months for user-level data).

7. Your Rights

Because MegaConvert does not require account creation and does not store personal information, there is no personal data profile associated with you that we can provide, modify, or delete on request. Uploaded files are automatically deleted — no manual deletion request is necessary.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the right to access, rectify, and erase personal data. If you believe we hold any personal data about you and wish to exercise these rights, please contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since we do not sell personal information, many CCPA provisions do not apply, but you may contact us with any privacy requests.

8. Children's Privacy

MegaConvert is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through our service, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of MegaConvert after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
